Sorry it has been so long!

Here are a few new pictures! Sorry it has taken so long to update, I will try to be better about posting!

The pictures today are a few from the MN state fair. The boys didn't want to go on the big bungee ride but did agree to the kids bungee jumping. They just jumped in the harness that you see with a trampoline under them. As expected Wyatt was a little nervous, ok, a lot nervous but Jaxon wasn't so sure of it either! The other picture is outside of a booth that had deep fried potato skins. The first 2 were good and after that it was just way to much grease. This was our first trip to the fair with no strollers and the boys did great! We wear there from 10:30 to 5 and they walked the whole time. It was a great time and I can't wait to do it again next year!

I know that I missed showing the boys in their green belts but now they have moved on to their purple belts. They are still enjoying karate but we will see how long it lasts!

Lastly, today was the day I had to put both of my babies on the bus. Yesterday was Wyatt's first day which was no big deal to him at all. I guess in third grade it is just old hat. Yesterday Jaxon had kindergarten orientation and today was his first official day of school. He was VERY exciting to get on the bus with his brother and the rest of his friends. I can't wait for him to come home. The house is very quiet without him. One picture is of the boys before we went to the bus stop and the other is at the bus stop with their friends Joe and Evan. The picture isn't the best, apparently my camera was still asleep!

Thats all for now!

Hiking at Lake Maria

Earlier this spring Todd took the boys to Lake Maria state park to watch a demo on making syrup. A lot of the park was closed due to high water but he thought it would be a great place to check out.
So on a nice warm day we headed to Lake Maria. One of the main reasons we wanted to go was to look at their camper cabin and campsites. The whole park was open when we got there, so we started hiking. We had never really done anything like that before so it was very interesting! It was beautiful walking through the woods. You will see some pictures of a woodpecker that was right above us and a very cute inch worm that was walking by as we were eating our snack. When we saw the sign for turtle crossing Wyatt said, "Now there's something you don't see every day!".
Also, there is a picture of the boys poking around in a pond which when we asked what was all over the pond Jaxon declared,"Algae." Where do they learn this stuff? The campsites and camper cabin were wonderful, I hope we will be able to stay at the park some night this summer!

Last day of school

6/4/09 Wyatt's last day of school! It was a beautiful day, weather was great which is very rare this year. After he got off the bus we headed to Beebe Lake beach for the afternoon and then to baseball. I think Wyatt will miss school since he does really enjoy it, but I am very happy to have him home with me where he belongs!

Memorial Day

5/25/09 Here a just a few pics from Memorial Day up at the cabin. Nothing to exciting just hanging out with family. One of the pictures is of Wyatt, Jaxon and Abby. Abby is my cousin Jennifer's baby. The boys just love her and want to hold her all the time. I also will post a picture of Todd in a typical pose at the cabin!

Jaxon's big day!

5/22/09 I think Jaxon felt a few inches taller today as he graduated from preschool. He has done really well in preschool. At his first conference in early winter we were told that he already knows everything he is supposed to for the whole year. They must have kept him busy somehow because he still loved going to school. Jaxon's only complaint was cutting. He said he didn't want to practice cutting any more becaus he already knew how! Congratualations Jaxon! We are very proud of you!

Como Zoo

5/13/09 This was our official last trip to Como Zoo with the preschool. Very sad! This was my fourth trip with the preschool and now those days will be over. Jaxon had a great time, spending most of trip with his good friend Carter. Believe it or not we did actually look at some animals, I just didn't take any pictures of that. Jaxon took his first ride on a roller coaster, needless to said he was not crazy about it!

Wyatt's First Communion

Sunday May 3, 2009 was Wyatt's First Communtion. I think he was a little nervous about the big day, but he was also very excited. Wyatt has done an incredible job in preparing for this sacrament. He has a good faith in God, one that he takes seriously. The mass started with all of the communicants walking in, then mass went on as usual. After the homily Wyatt was one of the children to read a petition, he did a very good job. I think he was a little worried about reading in front of everyone, but couldn't wait to be up on the alter and use the microphone! After communion he said that the host wasn't so bad but the wine was terrible! LOL! Let's hope he still says that 15 years from now! After communion they went up to the alter and sang a song for us and then were presented with their First Communion certificates. It was a very nice mass. After that we came home and had dinner with Grandma Edstrom, Auntie MaryAnn, Auntie Nancy, Uncle Mike, Mom, Dad and Jaxon, followed by cake. Wyatt recieved a ceremic cross that opened up and held a very nice rosary, money and the a Bible in a cedar box that was given to my mom by the American Legion in Memory of my father. This meant so much to me and Wyatt, a true heirloom!

It was a great day all around!
